What are the GACE Assessments?
The purpose of the GACE is to assess the work-related skills of Georgia public school educators.
The program checks whether teachers have the necessary knowledge and skills in order to teach in Georgia schools.
The examination is based on state and national standards for the preparation of educators and on the state of Georgia Performance Standards for the student curriculum.
The examination measures the candidate’s knowledge and skills in relation to established standards, instead of in relation to the performance of other candidates.
All test questions have been reviewed and approved by committees of Georgia educators.
The passing score for each test is established by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee.
